Spring Fever

Jack has been counting down the sleeps until spring.

Well it is no wonder really.

I have been bedridden for 4 days with the flu. No not a cold, the flu.

Well, still not feeling great last night I knew I was in for another sleepless night.

One look at Jack when he went to bed I knew we were in for trouble.

I underestimated.

At 1.30 am Jack arrived burning up.

By 3.30 Molly was in the bathroom crying that she couldn't get warm in her bed.

Shivering away

she also moved into our bed.

So here we have today, two sick little people.

Sully's table manners

Molly asked if she could feed Sully. She managed the task almost to completion, but seemed to forget one important step. To put the food on Sully's feeding mat. The temptation was all a bit too much, but Sully knows he is not allowed to eat food from the table. He sniffed and licked, but he sat and waited for someone to notice and move his meal to his own "table".

Can you do this???

This one's for Clyde. Look what we can teach your daughter :)

Cuddles with dad

At night when daddy gets home from work after showers and dinner, it is cuddle time.

Riwaka School Olympics

I am really struggling with this one. I am so proud of my boys!!! and want to show them off.

I have some great pictures to share, but feel some are best shared by Sabastian, and I do not want to steal his thunder.

The school today held an Olympics. What a blast. I will share the photos of Jack, and look out for Sabastian's photos on his blog. I may upload these also at a later date but want Sabastian to ahare first.

A play on words

Jack has really been doing well lately at school, and is learning to write little stories. He is so enthusiastic, and comes home each day practicing. He has amazed us with his ability to be able to make a clear short sentence and even spell words without any help.
Yesterday he sat down and wrote (all by himself and correctly) "I like". He then asked how to spell "this". I told him how to spell it, he wrote it and then excitedly said "that's my word of the day mum, that's my word of the day look S...H...I...T". He is probably still wondering why SAM and are cracked up laughing. The final sentence was I like this bug. Well done Jack.
(I seem to recall at a similar age your big brother spelt the exact same word on a post it note and stuck it to his bedroom door, much to my horror).

Snow time

Yes believe it or not, we got snow in our back yard last night. There is not much to show for it now, but I wish we could have gone out last night when it fell.

Off to school

Each morning when the boys walk up to the bus stop they are escorted by the ever loyal Sulls. Sullivan walks to within view of the bus stop to make sure they get there safe (Or to make sure they actually leave for the day so he can have peace and quiet). After he is finished he returns home to report in to mum.

Meet Floyd

This is Sully's best friend Floyd. How cute. I have never known a cat to make best friends with a neghbour and not have a cat fight. Floyd came over to play this afternoon, even with the dogs around.

Molly and her elephant

It has been a long time since I have had a full nights sleep. About 11 years I think.
Unfortunately the kids have been through a number of viruses over the last year.

Last night it was croup, (again) with Miss Molly. Still coughing and wheezing this morning I have had to take an annual leave day, as I have no sick leave left.

This photo is Miss Molly tucked up with her elephant hot water bottle in my bed. Rock on summer!

Fun in the garden

While Marc and SAM work hard in the garden, Molly, Jack and king Sull pose for the camera.

Marc spent hours in the front yard today pruning trees. It has really opened up the front of the house, so we are a bit lighter inside, and have more of a view. Sabastian has been a big help. All going towards paying off his bike. Thanks SAM for helping without complaining!

Unfortuantely in amongst all of the hard work we discovered our neighbour had again dug a trench in our lawn. Well within our property. A very annoying part to the day, but this time we have decided discussions have been fruitless and a formal complaint is going to have to be done. This is not going to make us popular, but it seems we are destined to have trouble no matter what. Our house may not be the prettiest in the street, but we take pride in what is ours, and work hard for all that we have.

Grandma Jean I think you will like this one of Sully. Fortunately Sully was not showing off his head as he has been helping Marc do an oil change on the mini. Not a good mix with white fur. Sully likes to follow everyone around. He escorts the boys most of the way to the bus stop each morning, and loves to play on the street with them when they are on their bikes. He is as loyal as a dog. I have also discovered that he LOVES to be brushed firmly, much to Marc's horror as of course it does dislodge some fur.

Laundry Tubs

This post is for my friend Kate. Kate is from the UK and once asked me what laundry tubs were for? Use: 1 of 101, to wash the dog.

Don't mess with Molly

OK, so it's not a massive shiner, but evidence says that the hook came from the left. Only one left hander in this house!

The Riscone

Molly has discovered the Riscone.

After refusing to eat these things we made Molly try it last week, and now whenever we go shopping I have to buy R Scones. (Croissants)

OK, so I married him!

A birthday to remember

I am not going to go into the details of this outing, which happened to be on my birthday. Instead I would like to share the happy moments.
Jack and Molly have found that reaching the sink in the boat is easy, so they fight over who is going to do the dishes. We will see how long this novelty lasts.
Standard lunch on the boat at the moment is sausages in bread with tomato sauce. Molly refuses to have the sausage, and as you can see from the face she enjoys a good old tomato sauce sandwich. Meredith I don't know if you remember, but I seem to recall eating these as a child also. Not sure what the nutritional element is but a smile on the face can be worth it.
