The new bike
For Jack's birthday he got a new bike, and a new helmet (thanks Aunty M, Uncle C and Sof for a great helmet).
Here are some great shots taken by S.A.M. the budding photographer.
Well Done!!!

Jack; The fish boy
Now for those of you that know Jack, he abcolutely loves fishing (for anything), and collecting all types of sea creatures. He has no fear around touching anything, and calls himself "the fish boy".
Jack has come home with his "super work" from school, and I found this poem in it.
I have included the whole poem so you can enjoy the way Jack's fish brain works.
The first is the poem written for the kids, and then the second is their chance to write their own. I will write what Jack has written in italics.
IF I WERE A FISH, HOW WOULD I LOOK?
I'D HAVE BIG EYES AND A SWISHY TAIL.
IF I WERE A FISH, WHAT WOULD I SEE?
I'D SEE WHALES AND SEALS AND FISH LIKE ME.
IF I WERE A FISH, WHAT WOULD I DO?
I'D PLAY HIDE AND SEEK WITH A HERMIT CRAB.
IF I WERE A FISH, WHAT WOULD I SAY?
I LOVE TO SWIM IN THE SEA ALL DAY.
IF I WERE A FISH, HOW OULD I LOOK?
ID HAVE big bulgy eyes
IF I WERE A FISH, WHAT WOULD I SEE?
I'D SEE sharks and sea horses
IF I WERE A FISH, WHAT WOULD I DO?
I'D dig under the sand
IF I WERE A FISH, WHAT WOULD I SAY?
Where's the bait?

Molly and Didi
Miss Molly was very quiet on Jack's birthday. She woke up with croup at 5am and got more and more quiet as the day progressed. At lunch she barely ate, and lets just say we had the most well behaved little girl ever. It became more apparent that little Miss Molly was getting quite sick,
These are some lovely photos even though you can see how lethargic Molly is. Thanks Didi for cuddling Molly. And thanks Molly for tolerating the whole celebration without one complaint.
Birthday lunch
For Jack's birthday we went to a lovely cafe for lunch with Grandma Lyn, Aunty Madge and Didi. It is great food, and the fire was going. All of the kids were so well behaved, I think a little tired after a busy weekend.
It is tradition in our house that the birthday child wears our birtday hat (just so everyone knows it is their birthday). Funny thing is it is never removed and stays on for hours.
SIX!!
Well Happy Birthday Jack!!
All Jack wanted to do for his birthday was go whitebaiting. So off we went. We got nothing, but Jack didn't care. He had so much fun.
As you are probably aware, Jack has a lisp, so his father in true form has spent all day asking Jack how old he is. Jack has answered very seriously each time thixth. It is beautiful.
